Outdoor Research Sales Meeting – Pumpkins & Soccer

Outdoor Research Sales Meeting – Pumpkins & Soccer

Twice a year, all Outdoor Research employees gather for the sales meeting in beautiful Washington State. This year, OR kept it close to home in South Seattle. This is a great time to reconnect with old friends, see new product and maybe have a beer or two.

The meeting this year was at SODO Park. A very cool old warehouse reinvigorated with a modern rustic charm. Before heading to SODO Park however, the in house employees at OR were kind enough to invite us over for a happy hour and dinner at their office. A few beers and some Cajun food later, it was time for bed as we had two full days of meetings ahead.

For this week, SODO Park was adorned with Outdoor Research mannequins wearing new styles for Fall 2016. The beginning of the meeting is a great time to give these styles the eye test before the product line managers divulge any more information about them. After spending some quality time learning about the incredible new products it was time for some hands on. This is a crucial part of the meeting as reps and designers stand side by side talking and questioning each other about the new products.

The meetings for the day ended but the fun did not. The Caraway and Co. team took on the other rep groups in a pumpkin carving contest. Low and behold the C&Co team came out victorious. A nice skeleton-pumpkin did the trick! After winning $100, the Caraway and Co. team took the money and headed to the Seattle Sounders playoff game against the Los Angeles Galaxy. The Sounders won 3-2 in an extremely intense and fun MLS playoff game.

The final day of the meeting focused on OR’s incredible new hats and handwear. It is amazing to see the progression of our product line season over season and year over year. After one final dinner and a goodbye to co-workers and friends alike, it was a quick jaunt to the airport and off on the plane to our homes. What an awesome and action packed three days.
