Vendor Spotlight: Borrego Outfitters
“I love my job”, how many times have you been able to say that in the last year? Lately, I find myself saying it a lot and this weekend gave me yet another reason of why it rings true.
Borrego Outfitters, located in Borrego Springs is a wonderful little outdoor store with much more to offer than just clothing and footwear. They are hidden in the desert not far from the Salton Sea in a tiny town with good hiking, golfing, incredible desert art and a tight knit community.
I was invited to attend their vendor spotlight day and bring a little PrAna presence into their store. It’s always exciting for me to travel to a new location and meet the people, but this place blew me away. The first thing I noticed was how welcoming and genuine their staff was. I was invited in, shown around and warmly welcomed by each and every person I came across, which made me feel instantly at home. Over the course of the 6 hours that I was there I was introduced to their customers (more like their friends), by name, and trust me they knew EVERYONE. It became evident to me that this place wasn’t a “store” in most people’s eyes, it was the hub of the community where everyone wanted to be. Here in Borrego Springs, if you have a story to tell, a free moment that you want to share with friends, a need for a gift, or an outfit, or advice, you go to Borrego Outfitters.
